Weekend update

Happy Monday to you! R&S write to you from their sunny living room on this beautiful day.

What a wonderful weekend.

On a rainy Friday, Stacey made a boat load of roasted vegetable enchiladas, made a visit to baby Levi, filled their house of enchiladas and salad and played with the kiddos, while Richard stayed behind and worked hard on a redesign and shopping cart for a client, they were joined by their friend Micah for dinner and ate enchiladas and watched the Concert for George, and gushed about their crushes on their favorite Beatle.

Saturday was a windy, Snojai (Snow in Ojai) cold day, the two worked away, took a long walk, went to sushi, and then went to The Village Jester to watch friends perform. Ted Lenon, Jon Swift, Todd Hannigan, Jason Frazier, and Jesse Seisenberg all took to the stage and played their original music and a few beloved covers.

Sunday the pair awoke, jumped in their car and headed to L.A for the Oh Joy yard sale, Joy is a designer/artist, and hosted the sale at her house along with other great designers from Ban.do and Design Lovefest. It was a feeding frenzy, but Stacey and Rick managed to find a few treasures. An adorable red frock for Miss S, vintage bowl, antique cutlery, pink mercury glass candle votives, and an awesome silver platter. Perfect little finds for the wedding and life. After they went over to Moore's Deli Orange Grove in Burbank, Christine and Robert just opened this awesome spot, Stacey was happy to see a few Little Flower favorites on the menu and was really stoked to introduce Richard to her love of the Moore family grub. R&S were having a great outing in L.A but needed to return home to meet Cindy of The Blue Owl, the two are putting on their Video Editing hats and will be feauturing videos soon. The video will not be posted for a while, but for now we leave you with a photo montage, just a little something that helped keep the midnight oil burning and gave us all a smile.

Next weekend... Wedding appointments up north :)

A Baby, A Wedding and An Anniversary

Today is R&S's year and half anniversary. What a whirlwind it has been! They met in Santa Barbara, Stacey moved to LA, then the two decided to move again and plant their roots in the sea side county of Ventura, started a business together, started planning the BIG picture, got engaged, and now planning their wedding and honeymoon.

In other exciting love news:

On Saturday, Stacey's cousin Kacey had her baby boy, Levi Channel Gritt. Rick and Stacey spent a few hours visiting the little guy and the parents at the hospital while also receiving a crash course in child labor. Kacey and Matt were overwhelmed with happiness as were Rick and Stacey. But most important, they were all looking forward to seeing how big brother Haven would react to his new baby brother. Congrats & XOXO's to the Gritt family now rolling one more member deep!

On Sunday, Richard and Stacey went to the wedding of Kristin and Matt at an amazing Los Angeles staple called the Smog Shoppe. A crazy delicious menu provided by Auntie Em's... Fennel Gratin, crab claws, sea bass, truffle mac and cheese (oh my), and many more delights. To top it all off an amazing cake that was super yummy and in the structure of Princess Peach's Castle. Matt and Kristin are a fun loving couple that got engaged on Mr. Toads Wild Ride and R&S hope that ride never ends! Yay Kristin and Matt Kamimura.

Stacey's favorite wedding date and favorite Pasadena ladies.

Be Mine

Richard and Stacey wish love to all their friends and family and the whole wide world for that matter.

R&S celebrated Valentine's on Sunday. After Stacey went paddle boating in the harbor with her lady buds, Richard took Stacey to the Matilija Hiking trail. The weather was perfect for a hike, the creeks were flowing with water as they adventured around. Richard has been reading the original Peter Pan to Stacey, and they just watched Finding Neverland, so with all this whimsical imagination filling their heads, they did share in the magic of nature and land and pretended they were settlers in middle of nowhere. Climbing rocks, racing sticks, and taking in the beauty... and bugs. It was quite the day.

After the hike, they went to Boccali's, Richard worked there back in his highschool days, and Stacey has been wanting to go for sometime. Watching the sun set behind the Ojai mountain range and then declare the famous "pink moment" while sipping on wine and eating delicious food it was quite romantic ...and turns out they were not alone, with a large group of their friend sitting at the table next to them. Oh the joys of a small town, but it just adds to the special life in which they share.

Speaking of special moments R&S baked their first pie together, Richard's first time making a pie. Richard's Dad was coming for a visit on Saturday, so they made two pies on Friday night. They made Caramel Apple Pecan and Chocolate Berry Pie and Yes, they were ridiculously good. Also, with a little leftover pie dough they honored their company Oliver and Michele Design, with an owl pie pop.
